2014-2016 GMC Sierra (Projector Style Headlamp)

The 2014 and 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 and the 2015 Sierra HD models are equipped with the same headlight design. All three Sierra models use a single 9012 halogen bulb as a High and Low Beam bulb. The 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 use the same 9012 bulb but with a C shaped LED daytime running light.

A 9012 halogen bulb is a single filament bulb, which means that a moving shield within the headlight controls the High and Low beam patterns. You can upgrade the 9012 bulb to an HID kit or an LED headlight kit. A 9012 HID kit will get you the brightest possible output. A 9012 LED projector specific headlight kit will give you a plug and play upgrade without having to modify the dust cover. To upgrade to LED requires a pair of Anti-Flicker Harnesses. In rare cases when the light turns on intermittently, a pair of load resistors may need to be added.

The 2015 Sierra uses a 5202 bulb to power the Fog Lights. We would recommend a 5202 LED Fog Light Bulb for this upgrade. We do not normally recommend HID for fog light upgrade. Fog light housings are normally smaller, so the drastic light output increase will give you a lot of glare. LEDs tend to make better choices for Fog Light upgrades. In your options for LED upgrade, we do not recommend the fan cooling LED bulbs for fog lights. Besides the glare issue similar to HID bulb, the life the fans will drastically be reduced when exposing to an excessive amount of elements. The lower mount fog lights are close to dust and mud on the ground, therefore, are very easy to attract elements.
